An AI lab for the benefits industry.
BenefitLab builds practical knowledge, training, and AI-powered tools for insurance and employee benefits professionals.
We are part knowledge company, part education platform, and part tool lab — built to help agents understand benefits better, explain them better, and get real work done faster.
Multiple resources. One benefits knowledge system.
BenefitLab includes several related resources because different audiences need different entry points. Some are public. Most of the deeper resources are available through the member subscription. Together, they feed one larger benefits knowledge system.
The home base for what we build.
BenefitLab is the company and lab behind the ecosystem. We build tools, training, AI workflows, plain-language explanations, and organized knowledge for the insurance and employee benefits industry.
At the center is a subscription membership for insurance professionals. Members get access to most of what we build: the knowledge base, Benefits Learning resources, tools, templates, workflows, AI prompts, and practical training.
We also maintain public-facing resources because some knowledge should be easy to find and useful to the industry. Benefits Weekly, HealthInsuranceFAQs.com, and selected public tools or events give agents a free look at the kind of work happening inside BenefitLab.
The goal is not to bury agents in more content. The goal is to make benefits knowledge easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to apply when a client asks a question or a renewal deadline is coming up.
Benefits Weekly
Our public sharing channel. Each week, we send one useful thing to your inbox: an insight, tool, deep dive, interview, CE opportunity, case study, or practical explanation. Sign up for free.
HealthInsuranceFAQs.com
A no-login, no-cost FAQ site with plain-language answers for agents, employers, employees, and consumers. These FAQs feed the member knowledge base.
Comply DIY
An employer compliance subscription site, built with ABY Benefits, that provides checklists, explanations, templates, tools, and a path to outsource what should not be DIY. Its compliance information feeds the member knowledge base.
The membership brings everything together.
One of the biggest benefits of the BenefitLab membership is that it brings knowledge from multiple resources into one organized, searchable, usable knowledge base for agents.
General Insurance Knowledge
Foundational explanations of insurance concepts, plan design, funding, renewals, networks, contributions, and terminology.
Benefits Strategies
Practical guidance for thinking through employer situations, contribution strategies, funding options, HRAs, renewals, and client decisions.
Compliance Information
Issue-spotting and plain-language explanations for ACA, COBRA, ERISA, Section 125, HIPAA, notices, common ownership, and more.
Vendor and Carrier Info
Organized carrier and vendor information so agents can understand products, market fit, and practical differences more quickly.
AI answers grounded in curated benefits knowledge.
We will be incorporating a RAG tool that allows agents to ask questions and get personalized answers from BenefitLab’s curated knowledge base.
That matters because insurance is nuanced. General AI can be useful, but its answers come from broad public training material. BenefitLab RAG will retrieve from organized, sourced, verified benefits information before generating an answer.
Tools agents can actually use.
BenefitLab started as a tool company. The knowledge matters, but the goal has always been to make agents faster, clearer, and more useful to their clients.
Small Group Quoting Tool
BenefitLab was founded in 2019, and our first tool was an Excel-based small group quoting tool called Stella. It produces quotes in end-user format without going online.
BCBSTX Renewal Extractor
Blue Cross renewal packets can be long. Agents often have to review multiple pages just to find what they need to request quotes and communicate with clients.
The renewal extractor lets agents upload the packet and get the key information in about 30 seconds — without opening the renewal.
Open Enrollment Portal Tool
Based on an Excel employee packet tool used for years by a Texas producing general agency, this online tool will help agents create mobile-friendly open enrollment portals for employer clients.
It can explain benefits, show costs, include instructions, and incorporate required notices with an employee acknowledgement.
Templates, Prompts, and Workflows
Members also get access to practical resources for renewals, client communication, AI prompting, compliance reviews, onboarding, content creation, and agency processes.
The tools are built around real work, not technology for the sake of technology.
Education that feeds the platform.
BenefitLab’s education arm teaches agents what they need to know, while the research and explanations from those classes strengthen the knowledge base.
CE and non-CE training
Benefits Learning includes self-study CE, live CE classes, online and in-person AI training, short educational lessons, and practical insurance training.
Much of the Benefits Learning material is incorporated into the membership and available at no extra charge where applicable.
One useful thing each week.
Benefits Weekly is our free weekly share for insurance professionals. No rigid format. Some weeks it may be a tool. Other weeks it may be a deep dive, interview, class, case study, or practical idea.
It is delivered to your inbox every week. Just sign up for free.

Eric has worked across the insurance industry, including carrier, agency, general agency, HSA administration, TPA, compliance, writing, CE, and tool development. BenefitLab brings that experience together with AI, structured knowledge, education, and practical tools.
