I’ve been in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years, and I’ve learned a lot from a lot of people, but Susan taught me more than most. I worked for Susan for several years. She ran a very successful insurance agency, and it worked because she had a well-thought-out system. And even though it worked well, she was always willing to try something new, to swap out “modules” in the system with tools and better workflows. While she’d put some initial resistance, she was always willing to listen and open-minded enough to experiment when it made sense. She also co-founded BenefitLab with me, and I’m now applying what I learned from her to create a successful business of my own.
