Imagine you were a prospector, someone who hunts for gold.
Not the romanticized version from movies — but the practical reality. You head out into the field, day after day, because you know something important:
There’s gold out there, and you’re very likely to find it.
Not every trip produces a life-changing strike.
But almost every trip produces something valuable.
If that were true, you wouldn’t wait for the “perfect day” to go looking.
You wouldn’t skip days because you weren’t inspired.
You’d go out consistently — because the odds are in your favor.
That’s how I use AI.
I’ve Never Been Short on Ideas — But That’s Not the Point
I’ve always had ideas.
That’s not new.
Like most people who build things, write, or create, ideas have never been the bottleneck.
The bottleneck has always been something else:
-
Which idea is worth pursuing now?
-
How does this half-formed thought connect to something real?
-
What happens if I push this a little further?
Those questions used to require:
-
quiet time
-
the right mood
-
enough mental energy to explore without friction
AI changed that.
AI as a Daily Prospecting Tool
Today, if I’m driving, walking, or just thinking about something loosely — I don’t wait.
I start a conversation.
No outline.
No clear destination.
Sometimes not even a strong opinion.
Just: “Here’s something I’ve been thinking about…”
And then the back-and-forth begins.
Almost every time, something happens:
-
an idea sharpens
-
a connection appears
-
a concept clicks into place
-
a vague thought turns into something usable
Not because AI “gave me the idea” —
but because the conversation surfaced it.
That’s the gold.
Why This Eliminates the Fear of Starting
This is where writer’s block — or more accurately, starter’s block — disappears.
Not because you never hesitate.
Not because every session produces brilliance.
But because the risk of starting is gone.
When you know that:
-
starting a conversation will lead somewhere
-
exploration is cheap
-
momentum is likely
You stop waiting for clarity.
You start with curiosity instead.
Reliability Changes Behavior
Here’s the part people underestimate.
When discovery becomes reliable, behavior changes.
If you believe:
“Something good will probably come out of this.”
Then:
-
you show up more often
-
you explore more freely
-
you take more intellectual risks
-
you don’t hoard ideas — you test them
That’s why I use AI every day.
Not because I have to.
Not because I’m blocked.
But because I trust the process.
Conversation Is the Force Multiplier
The real breakthrough isn’t speed.
It isn’t automation.
It isn’t even productivity.
It’s the fact that thinking no longer has to be solitary.
AI gives you:
-
a place to think out loud
-
a partner that doesn’t interrupt
-
a way to push ideas just far enough to see what they might become
That’s not magic.
It’s leverage.
Why I Don’t Skip Days
A prospector who knows there’s gold in the ground doesn’t skip days because they “don’t feel inspired.”
They go out because:
-
the odds are good
-
the process works
-
and every trip increases the chance of finding something valuable
That’s how AI fits into my day.
I don’t always know what I’ll find.
But I’m almost certain I’ll find something.
And over time, those somethings add up to real ideas, real projects, and real outcomes.
That’s why I start conversations.
That’s why I don’t wait for a plan.
And that’s why I keep coming back.
